Not only did Tres play this past season, he had 47 tackles and seven sacks.
PUBLISHED 1:17 PM CST Dec. 30, 2022FRISCO, Texas — Tres Harris was having one of his best games of the 2021 season, on the verge of leading Legacy Christian Academy to a win when everything changed on one play. Harris took a direct snap on that play and as he was being tackled, he was brought to the ground on his head at an awkward angle.
Tres was taken to the emergency room and then put in the ICU overnight. He had suffered a small fracture in his C6 vertebrae. Tres was unable to move for some time. Since Tres was young and in good shape, doctors determined that he did not need surgery, and with a neck brace and rehab, he could heal on his own. They also told him that he probably couldn’t think about playing football again for about another year.
“It was such a mixture of feelings, at first pure joy that he gets to go back and do something he loves,” said Angela Harris. “We hold our breath every play, but it’s getting better as the season goes on.”
