Triple shooting in Katy sends 2 brothers, neighbor to hospital, sheriff's office says
A triple shooting in Katy Saturday morning resulted in two brothers and their mentally disturbed next-door neighbor being taken to area hospitals.A man who authorities say appeared to be experiencing a mental health emergency started a shootout with his Katy neighbors early Saturday morning, sending all three to the hospital.
deputies received 911 calls around 12:30 a.m. about a shooting in the 21200 block of Branford Hills, Sgt. John Klafka with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. Deputies learned that two brothers and their longtime neighbor were involved in the shooting, Klafka said.Harris County Sheriff's Office investigating after a triple shooting in Katy Saturday morning resulted in two brothers and their mentally disturbed next-door neighbor being taken to area hospitals.Klafka said the neighbor was possibly suffering from some type of mental health issues at the time of the shooting.
The second brother involved pulled out his gun and returned fire, striking the neighbor twice. This brother was also shot at least twice during the exchange of gunfire, Klafka said. Both brothers were taken to a hospital by Life Flight, while the neighbor was driven in an ambulance to an area hospital. As of Saturday morning, the brothers and their neighbor are in stable condition, Klafka said.The neighbor has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Klafka said.
