Former President Donald Trump lambasted the Supreme Court early Wednesday after the justices ordered the handover of his tax returns to a Democrat-led House committee.
In his 1:15 a.m. diatribe, Trump, 76, claimed the high court “always” rules against him despite the 45th president nominating three of its nine current members during his four years in office.said on Truth Social
. “It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents.” The former president went on to accuse the conservative-dominated court of being “political” in its decision-making, referencing its refusal to overturn the 2020 election results at his behest.
“The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price,” he said. “They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!”Donald Trump nominated three of the Supreme Court’s current justices.
