President Trump tweeted that the only real winner from last night's Iowa caucuses was himself
President Donald Trump on Tuesday insisted that Iowa would retain its first-in-the-nation nominating contest — despite having no authority over Democrats' primary scheduling — blaming Democrats, not the Hawkeye State, for Monday night's snafu-ridden caucuses.
"The Democrat Caucus is an unmitigated disaster. Nothing works, just like they ran the Country," Trump said in the tweet. "Remember the 5 Billion Dollar Obamacare Website, that should have cost 2% of that. The only person that can claim a very big victory in Iowa last night is 'Trump'." Official results are not expected from Monday's Democratic caucuses until later Tuesday, although no definitive timetable for their release has been given. But the lack of results did little to dissuade Democratic candidates, including former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Bernie Sanders, from celebratory rallies Monday night.
“They can’t even run a caucus and they want to run the government,” he tweeted with a flush-faced emoji. “No thank you.”
