Trump’s re-election campaign, seizing the moment to portray the president as a strong commander, is touting the killing of an Iranian military leader
COLUMBUS, Ohio—As President Trump backs away from conflict with Iran, some of his most loyal supporters say they never worried about the clash getting out of hand.
In the battleground state of Ohio, Trump backers attending a Wednesday campaign event with the president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, said they supported Mr. Trump’s move to take out an Iranian military leader and that they didn’t believe he was ever going to send ground troops into the country, based on his opposition to what he calls “endless wars.”
