The governor publicly announced his campaign last week with a glitch-plagued Twitter Spaces rollout. He is widely regarded as Trump's top GOP primary threat but trails him by over 30 points in the latest RealClearPolitics polling aggregate. During his previous stops in Iowa, DeSantis has praised the state's policy, dubbing his home state of Florida as the"Iowa of the southeast." He has compared other early states, such as New Hampshire, to Florida as well.
