Police identified the shooter as Gavin Lee Stansell, 24, who was being evicted from the apartment for threatening a neighbor with a gun.
Jamie Donnelly Arizona Daily Star A 24-year-old man being evicted shot and killed a Pima County constable and an apartment manager before turning the gun on himself, Tucson police said Friday in providing the first details of what happened at a north-side complex the day before.
On Aug. 25 at 11:13 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at Lind Commons, located at 3493 E. Lind Road. Upon arriving, police found Fox-Heath in the courtyard with gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers found Stansell dead in the apartment with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
A former coworker who worked with Stansell at Delivery Doctors Movers described him as “quiet,” stating that he was very was shocked about the incident. The coworker was working a Delivery Doctors Movers, which is close to Lind Commons, at the time of the shooting. He said he heard multiple loud gunshots and that stood out from anything he has ever heard.
“She worked very hard to make sure that like everyone was happy and that the apartment themselves were fun and safe places to be in.” Menke said.
