Turkey's Togg Makes Public Debut At CES With Transition Concept Smart Device | Carscoops carscoops
Turkey’s automotive startup, Togg, made its international public debut today at the Consumer Electronics Show , in Las Vegas. To mark the occasion, it showed off the “Transition Concept Smart Device”, an electric fastback study with an odd choice for a name.and sedan concepts. It’s not clear if this latest fastback is intended to replace the previously seen compact sedan or was created just for CES.
A “dynamic and innovative fastback,” the Transition Concept Smart Device features a slick styling highlighted by the suicide-style rear doors. Per Pininfarina, the concept leading the design of the car was a line that runs all the way down the side of the vehicle. The illuminated Togg logo, meanwhile, is unique to this car and represents the unification of Eastern and Western cultures.
Inside, the Togg Transition Concept Smart Device features a sporty steering wheel, four single seats with seatbelts integrated within them, and a plethora of infotainment screens. Passengers are welcomed into the car with pillarless suicide doors.First production model coming this year In all, Togg plans to have five models based on the same platform powered by battery packs that it says will make in-house in partnership with Chinese firm Farasis. It has announced that, along with a sedan and its previously announced SUV, it will also produce a larger SUV, a minivan, and a hatchback.
“By the end of 2022, we will launch our first mass production vehicle,” said Gürcan Karakaş. “Our first vehicle in the C-segment, the SUV, will be launched in the first quarter of 2023 following the completion of homologation tests. It will be the first electric SUV produced in continental Europe by a non-traditional manufacturer. A C-segment sedan and a C-segment hatchback will then enter production.
