Bexar County investigators arrested two men in connection with explosions in a far east Bexar County neighborhood.
Robert Pena was arrested in connection with explosives detonated in the 11200 block of Buttercup Lane on May 3.
Joey Lewayne Whitehead, 42, and Robert Joe Pena, 43, were charged with second-degree arson and possession of a controlled substance. Whitehead was also charged with failure to identify or giving false information.On May 3, the Bexar County authorities were called to the 11200 block of Buttercup Lane for reports of explosions being set off. The blast was detonated in an open field on a residential lot, causing property damage.
Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies spotted the men’s vehicle fleeing from the scene and stopped it nearby.
