Two people were shot Tuesday, including one who died at the scene in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Shortly before 10 a.m., officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 9600 block of Edes Avenue in the city’s Brookfield Village neighborhood.
At this same time last year, Oakland police had investigated 102 homicides. The California Highway Patrol has also investigated five homicides on freeways in the city this year.
