U.S.-China tensions will last longer than a burst of tweets from President Donald Trump GinaChon

Major U.S. stock indices fell on May 6 after trade tensions between China and the United States intensified. President Donald Trump tweeted on May 5 that he would increase U.S. tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods on May 10 to 25 percent from 10 percent currently. “The Trade Deal with China continues, but too slowly, as they attempt to renegotiate. No!” Trump wrote.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said on May 6 that a delegation was still planning to visit the United States this week for another round of talks.
