Britain set for 18C scorcher as HOT as Portugal on first day of Spring
"Overnight there will be potential for some frosts on the ground with temperatures tonight between 6-9C across the UK."There will be strong winds and gusts of 30mph over the weekend."Eastern parts of the country, which are sheltered from westerly winds, are likely to see the best of the sunshine and warmer weather, the Met Office said.
"It will pretty much be mild everywhere but it's just that those peak temperatures are more likely to be on the eastern side of the country."Temperatures in Cambridge are set to reach 18C today while Aberdeen could hit 17C , while the Midlands is likely to see 15C and west Wales around 12C . Temperatures are expected to cool slightly towards the weekend but the weather will remain settled, Mr Miles added.
