Cloudflare Rejects Ukraine’s Call To Stop Protecting Russians From Cyberattacks

Cloudflare says it will help Russians get access to more news sources by keeping its business going in the country. The $30 billion tech company Cloudflare has decided to continue providing services to Russia, in the face of calls from Ukraine to cease following the invasion.

“I am sure that you will not only listen, but also do everything possible to protect Europe, Ukraine and the whole democratic world from this bloody, authoritarian aggression. Therefore, I demand to disable [Russian federation] sites from CloudFlare and block the ability to use your services.”Prince said on Monday his company would not be complying with that demand.

“Indiscriminately terminating service would do little to harm the Russian government, but would both limit access to information outside the country, and make significantly more vulnerable those who have used us to shield themselves as they have criticized the government.
