The United States and Canada are working on a proposed mutual ban on non-essential travel between the two countries, a Canadian government official says.
A man wears a mask and a hat with an Irish symbol of shamrock designs as he walks in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
The official was not authorized to discuss details amid discussions and ahead of an announcement and spoke to The Associated Press on condition anonymity. Trudeau said the exemption for Americans, despite the rapid rise of cases in the U.S., was due to “the level of integration of our two economies.”
