The investigation began when Bailey contacted Layton dispatch, indicating a murder-suicide had occurred. He confirmed the victims' fates and stated the incident had transpired approximately twenty minutes prior. Additional evidence included a receipt for ammunition, time-stamped just after 9 a.m. on the fateful day, corroborating Bailey's prior statements.Court documents stated that one of the victims had contacted a therapist earlier on the day of the incident, expressing concerns about Bailey's behavior.
