Rep. Chris Stewart has officially submitted his letter of resignation from Congress.
According to the letter, obtained by KUTV 2News, Stewart will step down from his seat effective September 15.In the brief letter, Stewart — who is resigning due to his wife’s health issues — called serving in Congress “one of the great honors of my life.”Gov. Cox now has seven days to issue a proclamation calling for a special election to replace Stewart.
