Utahns are getting excited to see Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen participate in NBA All-Star Weekend and FOX 13 News has a unique connection to the Markkanen family. macfox13
Markkanen will start for the Western Conference team in Sunday's All-Star Game and will participate in the league's 3-point contest on Saturday night.
Saaraleinen also competed on the Finnish National Team with Lauri's dad, and he's extremely proud of the success of his fellow flying Finn. After his days playing as a BYU Cougar, Saaraleinen continued on with the Finnish National Team, where he was teammates with a young man named Peka Markkanen. Lauri was eventually recruited to play college basketball at the University of Arizona in Tucson and Saaraleinen got the chance to connect with him while visiting.
