UTSA baseball knocks off Southern Miss to reach C-USA semifinals

The teams exchanged six ties or lead changes during the final four innings, capped when UTSA’s Ryan Flores smashed a 428-foot solo home run to center field to put the Roadrunners in front in the ninth. “We didn’t play great, we made some mistakes, but God dang we fight really hard,” coach Patrick Hallmark said on the ESPN+ broadcast.
The Roadrunners poked ahead 3-2 in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Garrett Poston, but the Golden Eagles reclaimed the lead with three runs in the bottom half.
