Authorities say Christopher Darnell Jones Jr. - the gunman they say opened fire inside a bus full of University of Virginia students returning from a field trip, killing three and leaving two others injured – is in police custody.
The shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to shots fired in the Culbreth parking garage on campus.
The bus was on school grounds when Jones Jr. allegedly opened fire. Two other students were wounded and were hospitalized in the shooting. One of the injured students is in good condition and the other is in critical condition. He was last seen wearing a burgundy jacket/hoodie, blue jeans and red shoes. Police said he could be driving a black SUV with Virginia tag TWX3580.Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately and not approach him.
