Varios centenares de personas se manifestaron el sábado frente al palacio presidencial de La Moneda en la capital de Chile para reivindicar la figura del dictador Augusto Pinochet, a dos días antes de que se cumplan 50 años del golpe militar que cambió el destino de la nación sudamericana.
Con pancartas en español e inglés, en que se leía “50 años después Chile contra el comunismo de nuevo”, banderas patrias y mucha iconografía referida a Pinochet en forma de cuadros, fotos, banderas o bustos, los manifestantes —entre 200 a 300 según estimaciones de los medios— expresaron sus elogios a la figura del dictador, que sigue despertando reacciones divididas en el país.
“Estamos conmemorando a mi general Pinochet. No fue dictador, no fue asesino”, dijo Margarita Muñoz, también en edad madura.Chile llega a la conmemoración de los 50 años del golpe con un ambiente tenso y dividido que se ha expresado también en las fuerzas políticas.
