The community is working together to rebuild after Monday's tornado.
ROUND ROCK, Texas – Hundreds of volunteers gathered outside Success High School as the sun rose on Saturday. As of Friday, Spectrum News meteorologist Burton Fitzsimmons confirmed 29 tornadoes touched down in the Lone Star State this week.
“Today, we’re not gathered together for funeral services,” said Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell. “Today, we’re gathered together to make a difference.” Volunteers were tasked with removing debris like branches and logs. Piles and piles lined the streets of one of Texas’ hardest hit neighborhoods, Kensington.
“We now have heroes all over the neighborhood,” said Richard Parson, president of the Kensington Neighborhood Association. “And that’s the embarrassment of riches. It’s almost too much help, but we aren’t refusing any.” A seriously amazing effort. Texans helping Texans. Cleaning up yards this morning is no small effort. There are piles and piles of branches everywhere.
