“ACC should be very proud of this election and what the community is saying to us," Nan McRaven, ACC District trustee chair, said in a press release."That they trust us, that we can deliver and that we will deliver on our promise for this $770 million bond initiative.” A significant portion of the bond will be used toward workforce development, specifically in advanced manufacturing, skilled trades like welding and nursing.The mission of the nine-member ACC Board of Trustees is to make policies regarding the community college’s educational programs and help ensure the college is meeting the needs of the community. Candidates for two of the three trustee positions ran unopposed: Sean Hassan for Place 4 and Manny Gonzalez for Place 5.
Two candidates were in the running for Place 6. Steve Jackobs appears to have won the race with 56% of the vote, according to unofficial results.
