The retailer has removed the controversial ugly sweater from its website.
A festive sweater sold on Walmart Canada’s website is bringing new meaning to the phrase “Let it snow” — and now the retailer is apologizing.
“We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America,” read the online product description. “That’s bad news for jolly old St. Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole. That’s why Santa really needs to savor the moment when he gets his hands on some quality, grade A Colombia snow. He packs it in perfect lines on his coffee table and then takes a big whiff to smell the high-quality aroma of the snow.
Just in case walmart actually clues in and takes it down, here’s a screenshot pic.twitter.com/wOEpLRw5L8 “These sweaters, sold by a third-party seller on Walmart.ca, do not represent Walmart’s values and have no place on our website,” a spokesperson told Global News Canada on Saturday. “We have removed these products from our marketplace. We apologize for any unintended offense this may have caused.”
