But, dear reader, Kent Bazemore did not have a bigger role or have a better shot at a championship with the Lakers.
It was a relative dumpster fire of a season for the former undrafted guard from Old Dominion who has now had two stints with Golden State. In his first stint, he actually played in more games as a rookie and second-year man than he did with the Lakers this season. In February 2014, he was traded to LA in exchange for Steve Blake, before being ruled out for the season with a torn tendon in his right foot in April 2014. He played in 23 games for LA before the injury, averaging a career-best 13.
The two teams, of course, face off tonight at 7 p.m. at Chase Center. Nothing will be on the line for the Lakers or Bazemore, who, again, will not make the playoffs. The Warriors, on the other hand, can clinch the third-seed in the playoffs if they win out . Their final three games of the season are at home against the hapless Lakers, followed by two road games against the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans.
