Golden State Warriors Summer League: Trayce Jackson-Davis looks nearly NBA ready
The Warriors moved to 0-5 in Las Vegas Summer League, but the game looked to be slowing down for rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis in his second game. And that bodes well for his chances to earn some minutes as Golden State’s fourth big option.
Not shown in his low assist count was his strong feel for making the extra pass — a handful of quick-thinking and athletic baseline passes and in the two-man game showed the kind of vision that could earn him minutes with the big league team. The Warriors could, in theory, sign a player such as 35-year-old former Warrior JaVale McGee to a veteran minimum to add some depth to the center position. But general manager Mike Dunleavy has said they don’t intend of signing a seven-footer just to add size. Jackson-Davis profiles as a big that head coach Steve Kerr has always favored in this system — strong passers, screeners and defenders such as Kevon Looney and Draymond Green.
