President Biden called the attacks by Hamas on Israel ‘sheer evil’
That was Texas Representative and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul addressing the recent Hamas attack on Israel and the failure of U.S. intelligence agencies and Israeli agencies to recognize the attack before it happened.
“I don’t want to get too much into classified , but a warning was given. I think the question was at what level,” the Texas Republican added. The Egyptian government has not responded to those claims, but Egyptian media with close ties to the nation’s intelligence denied that the aforementioned warning was given, according to a report from AFP. Israel’s prime minister’s office stated on Tuesday that no warning was given.
Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on Saturday, firing thousands of rockets from Gaza — more than 2,100 people have been killed and thousands wounded on both sides.
