Clean beauty brand Neighbourhood Botanicals responded to the COVID-19 crisis by creating a botanical hand sanitiser that both kills bugs and moisturises skin.
In keeping with the WHO's guidelines that these types of virus strains can only be killed with a 75% or above alcohol concentration, the brand have harnessed their ethos of 'keeping up skin hydration and making gentle products that don't irritate or dry the skin,' by manufacturing a natural botanical hand sanitiser made up of 75% alcohol and botanicals of eucalyptus, fennel and sage.
team explained that – while you still get 'the initial hit of the smell of alcohol' – it's almost immediately followed by a 'strong herbal bouquet'. Hands also feel lightly moisturised and protected. The clean beauty brand decided to create the hand sanitiser using existing supplies in their newly opened professional lab in Leyton, East London. This meant the lab was able to provide a quick turnaround in response to the crisis.
