'Self Made' on Netflix Ending Explained: What Happened at the End and How Close Is It to What Really Happened?Episode 4 brings the Octavia Spencer mini-series to an end with a finale that sees Sarah Breedlove/Madam C.J. Walker moving to New York and dealing with protests from her employees as she tries to make a deal with a chain of drugstores.
Although the Saunders pharmacy that Walker almost makes a deal with in the Netflix show is a fictional company, in real life she was the victim of protests from her salespeople, who felt that if her Glossine product was available in stores, it would make it harder for them to sell those products.Though there do not seem to have been the actual placarded protests we see in the Netflix series, one group did present a petition to Walker, that read in part:"We the undersigned agents of Mme C.J.
