There's a sense in which, six episodes in, Ahsoka is still hiding its true plot. Ahsoka episode 6 saw the villains successfully travel the pathway to Peridea, discovering Grand Admiral Thrawn and three Nightsisters, known as the Great Mothers.
The Nightsisters have always stolen the Force from others. It's possible the Malmourral are not simply a myth, but rather that these creatures existed, and that they are the source of the Nightsisters' magick. If that is the case, then one Malmourral could be slumbering on Peridea, destined to be awoken by Baylan. This would presumably unleash a cosmic force infinitely more powerful than the Nightsisters on the galaxy.
3 Is Star Wars Bringing Back The Bendu? A mysterious and powerful being introduced in Star Wars Rebels, the Bendu was neither light nor dark, but rather considered himself to be "the one in the middle." This powerful creature refused to fight for the Rebel Alliance, but he was antagonized to the point of launching an attack on Grand Admiral Thrawn's forces.
