It’s that time of year again.

. That includes most of North America and Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand, but relatively few countries closer to the equator. In much of Asia, South America and Africa, daylight saving time was only ever adopted briefly, if at all.That may largely be a function of geography, and of Earth’s tilted axis. Because the planet spins on an axis 23.5 degrees away from being upright, higher latitudes get varying amounts of sunlight throughout the year; it’s why we have seasons.

Good Housekeeping suggests some spring cleaning-type steps: flipping mattresses, cleaning refrigerator coils, replacing air filters.preparing for potential sleep disruptions. Some suggest using relaxation techniques to improve sleep in the days ahead of the clock shift, and to prioritize daylight exposure to help set your body’s internal clock.
