What to watch on Disney+ this month: 'Shang-Chi,' 'Hawkeye' and a film about a kid who gets left behind when his family goes on vacation (no, it's a new one)
Fox’s X-Men films continue to trickle into Disney+ and though the run was wildly variable in quality, this is one of the good ones. Director Matthew Vaughn turns back the clock to the group’s origin story, back when Professor X and Magneto worked together and the Cold War threatened to destroy the world unless mutants stepped up to protect it.
That’s promising, right? Otherwise this sounds like a virtual remake of the original, but that worked thirty-plus years ago, so why not try it again?The latest Disney theme park attraction to get the feature film treatment stars Dwayne Johnson as a ship’s captain hired by a British scientist to search for the Tree of Life. Will their journey be free of adventure? Not if a rival team and a jungle filled with wild animals has anything to say about it.
