Biden will visit the West Coast on Nov. 14 for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Week. There, he will meet with Xi in person amid tensions between the world's two largest economic powers. Jean-Pierre stressed that talks between the U.S. and China are ongoing at lower levels, pointing to meetings with national security adviser Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken."This is an important relationship," Jean-Pierre said."This is about competition, that’s what we want to see with China, and this is going to be an important diplomatic conversation that we're going to have.
