But I didn't realize this was going to be a mainstream thing until a good friend of mine tried Burger King's"Impossible Whopper". He said it tasted like meat. He liked it. And even said he would buy it again. Make fun of the"beyond meat" market all you want, it's going to be a whopper, literally, of a market for American farms of all sizes.
President Trump needs to invite the champions of the Little League Baseball World Series to the White House and offer them Impossible Whoppers and fake chicken by the Colonel. It might look laughably lefty to Trump advocates like Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh, but trust me...this is serious business for Trump voters in farm counties nationwide.
The plant-based foods category is a growth story. It's not going to replace China overnight. But China is increasing its own soy production and will eventually import less from the U.S. anyway. Non-animal proteins are used mainly in dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. So-called"plant meats" are a new market. We have gone from the decade old veggie burger product line on a shelf in the frozen foods aisle, to an entire aisle of vegan foods at the local Krogers.
