A Houston meteorologist sneaks words into live weather reports suggested to him from TikTok

"If you didn't know I was doing it, for the most part, you wouldn't even realize it if you're watching it on TV," Krueger said."My whole goal here is really not to take away from the main weather story but just add a little fun to it."

Now he has over 111,000 followers and his platform has snowballed from using Wordle solutions to taking suggestions from the users who comment on his videos.Krueger has been CW39 Houston's Chief meteorologist for a little more than two years but has worked at various television stations in Texas since 2006, where he has always made fun on air a priority.

In 2020, Krueger was still working in Austin when he filmed his first weather on the lawn story, where he can be seen standing in his backyard using his lawn as a green screen. "It was when everyone was working from home. I was doing the weather from home, and it was just an idea I had and started playing with it. I put it online, and it kind of blew up," Krueger said.

Krueger says that he and his team were also the originators of taco warning vs. taco watch — an explainer that shows the difference between a tornado warning and a tornado watch.
