Former Alabama star Will Anderson said of last year's game against LSU, 'I think that’s the one that hurts more than any other game I lost, just because I felt like the preparation was so good.'

On Tuesday, during an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take,” the former Alabama star took some time to look back at his time in Tuscaloosa.

Stephen A. Smith asked Anderson, expected to be a top-5 draft pick, to break down how it all went wrong for Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide in games against Tennessee and LSU. In October, after a 15-year losing streak to Alabama, Tennessee snapped the stream when Chase McGrath made a 40-yard field goal as time expired to give No. 6 Tennessee a 52-49 victory over No. 3 Alabama.

“The Tennessee game, that was just one of those rough games, you know, where it was different, you know what I’m saying,” Anderson said Tuesday. “We just had to do a lot better job executing a lot of stuff on the defensive side of the ball and just locking in.”Less than a month after the loss to Tennessee, Alabama faces Jayden Daniels, who ran for 25-yard touchdown in overtime, then found Mason Taylor for a do-or-die 2-point conversion, and 15th-ranked LSU defeated No. 6 Alabama 32-31.

“But the LSU game, I think that’s the one that hurts more than any other game I lost, just because I felt like the preparation was so good,” he said. “Everybody was on time, doing everything that we needed to do at practice. We didn’t have any re-starts. Practice was going smooth. That was just a really great week for us. I think, for the leaders, it just hurt us so bad, because what more could we have done? You know what I’m saying.
