Wish Book: Helping those living on the street transition to lasting homes
Donations raised through Wish Book will help pay for critical services at one of its family shelters.
In August, LifeMoves received nearly $52 million in state funding to build a new prefabricated shelter with 204 rooms in South San Jose. The nonprofit also was awarded over $26 million for a planned 88-unit shelter complex near the Palo Alto Baylands. Danny Hays, who experienced homelessness in San Jose, walks towards the room he stayed in while at Life Moves shelter in Menlo Park, Calif., on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022.
