Texas Longhorns head football coach, Steve Sarkisian, applauded the finer details of his team's Week 2 win at Alabama. But Sarkisian says his team must now...

The coach pointed out Ja’Tavion Sanders’ hustle in recovering an Adonai Mitchell fumble on Texas’ second offensive possession of the game – a series that would ultimately yield three points for the Longhorns.

But the coach made clear his squad has greater ambitions than picking up a September road win against Alabama.“That one game isn’t going to define our season,” Sarkisian said. “I think championship teams continue to improve as the season goes on. We’ve got goals and aspirations of being champions this year. We’ve got to continue to improve this week, and that was the starting point here this morning.

Sarkisian also said the offense has room to improve in the red zone, where it twice settled for field goals over four trips inside Alabama’s 20.“I thought defensively, we got a little sloppy in our coverage and allowed them to make some explosive plays there in the fourth quarter,” said Sarkisian, referring to Alabama’s 3rd & 17 conversion early in the final period, and Amari Biblack’s 39-yard receiving touchdown.during its 40-0 rout of the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night.
