Firefighters from three fire departments rescued a woman and three dogs from a Long Island house fire on Sunday
Firefighters from three fire departments rescued a woman and three dogs from a Long Island house fire.Off-duty Suffolk County Police Officer Jared Gunst, who is a First Assistant Chief with Islip Fire Department, responded to a house fire at 4 Cleveland St.
East Islip Fire Department Firefighter Vinny Bologna escorted the woman to be evaluated by medical personnel at the scene. EMS took her to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Gunst, who is part of the police department’s Medical Crisis Action Team and recently participated in medical training to aid police canines, provided advanced medical support to two of the dogs.
