A spokesperson with the FDNY confirmed a woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital in serious but stable condition with what appeared to be a shark bite to the leg. The incident happened just before 6 p.m., officials said.The FDNY is not updated on patient conditions. A request to the city Parks Department was not immediately returned.
