Woman in her 70s fatally hit by truck while crossing the street, police say
Houston Police Vehicular Crimes Division responded to a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard and Boone Road.A woman in her 70s was fatally struck by a truck while crossing the street late Sunday, Houston police said.
The woman was using a crosswalk at the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard and Boone Road in west Houston when she was hit by a Dodge pickup. There was a"do not cross" signal up for the crosswalk at the time, a member of the Houston Police Vehicular Crimes Division told On Scene reporters. The woman was struck as the truck turned onto Bellaire Boulevard from Boone Road.She was taken to a hospital where she died, officials said. She had not yet been identified as of Monday morning.
