A woman is dead after being found unresponsive in a pool early Thursday at an apartment complex located on San Jose Boulevard, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).

JSO Sergeant Jay Reeves said first responders arrived at Woodlake Park Apartments at around 6:45 a.m. and pulled the woman out of the water. They tried to provide lifesaving measures but could not revive her.Reeves said the woman, possibly in her mid-30s, was last seen alive around the pool area late last night, and they do not know how long she was in the water before being found.
At this time, authorities do not suspect foul play or suicide as the cause of this incident. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death from the autopsy.JSO is asking for people to come forward if they heard or saw anything late last night or this morning that could help in the investigation.
