A 75-year-old woman has filed a lawsuit against the East Brunswick Public Library in New Jersey, claiming she became trapped by a defective bathroom stall door and was seriously injured when forcing her way out., says in court papers the incident occurred on March 18, 2022, at the township’s library on Jean Walling Civic Center Drive.
“ became trapped in a restroom stall and, when finally able to get the door open, she lost her balance and fell against the wall,” states the suit, filed Sept. 12 in Superior Court of Middlesex County. The woman struck her head on a wall and fractured bones in her wrist, arm, ankle and foot, according to the suit.The woman is suing both the library and township, along with unnamed workers that her lawyers claim knew the stall door was “in a defective and dangerous condition.”The woman is suing for medical expenses exceeding $3,600, along with interest and the costs of filing the suit.
