Woman suffers burns, smoke inhalation in El Cajon house fire [Breaking]
An El Cajon woman suffered burns and smoke inhalation in a fire that destroyed her house Sunday afternoon, a fire official said.
The fire was reported about 5:50 p.m. at a home on Green Grove Avenue near Olive Hills Avenue. When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting through the roof, Heartland Fire & Rescue spokesperson Andy McKellar said.The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her age and further details about her injuries were unavailable.
The cause of the fire was under investigation. A damage estimate was not available, but McKellar said the home was a “total loss.”
