In a profanity-laced post, Cardinals star Yadier Molina let his feelings known regarding the play that injured Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
USA TODAYLos Angeles Angels catcher Jonathan Lucroy was sent to the hospital Sunday as the result of a collision in a play at the plate with the Houston Astros' Jake Marisnick.
Longtime St. Louis Cardinals star Yadier Molina was one of the many voices who weighed in on the play, and he washappy to see a fellow catcher get leveled in such brutal fashion. He let his anger for Marisnick and the situation at-large known in a profanity-laced post on his verified Instagram account.
Molina's voice carries some weight on the play-at-the-plate issue: he's a nine-time Gold Glove winner and two-time World Series champion with the Cardinals. Clearly, he's tired of seeing collisions at home, and admonished fans who enjoyed seeing the"old-school" play again. Marisnick, for his part, said he was trying to slide headfirst on the inside corner and admitted it was a"bad play" by him.
