Everything is bigger in Texas, but unfortunately for former Yankee Jackson “Clint” Frazier; the ball stayed the same size.
Frazier, 28, mutually agreed to part ways with the organization and test free agency once more after hitting .250 to start the season at the Rangers’ Triple-A affiliate Round Rock, according to multiple reports on Tuesday
Frazier signed a minor league deal with the Rangers during the offseason with the hopes of competing for a major league roster spot.In spring training, he was in a battle for the Rangers’ final outfield spot but lost out to ex-Met Travis Jankowski. With no playing time available thanks to Leody Taveras’ rise and Jankowski surprisingly fifth on the team in WAR according toIt is unknown whether Frazier will have a serious market when he clears waivers, though at the least another minor league opportunity should be available.that also brought Justus Sheffield to New York in exchange for reliever Andrew Miller., dealt with concussion issues and didn’t enjoy playing for the franchise.
In a short stint with the Cubs last year, Frazier struggled with a .216 average in 37 at-bats and a 29.7 percent strikeout rate. Whoever ends up taking a chance on Frazier will also be referring to him as “Jackson” instead of “Clint”
