, plus soybean protein and yeast extract, which is meant to help plump and moisturize. The other side, Resculpt, is a white-colored gel-cream formulated with soybean seed and sweet almond seed extracts to promote collagen production and give the skin a firmer appearance.
Curious about the benefits of a dual-chamber moisturizer, I ran the product details past New York City dermatologist. She is largely in favor of the concept. "It is often the case that different ingredients are needed for different skin-care concerns; having it all in one jar allows you to minimize shelf space while maximizing benefits and allowing the concentration of the ingredients to stay specific for the targeted areas," she says.
Garshick and cosmetic chemist Lolade Agidigbi also confirm that the brand's claims about the benefits of the key ingredients in both formulas are spot on. In Revolumize, soybean protein "helps provide a support system to plump up skin, filling in lines," and the yeast extract "helps skin hold onto moisture, providing a smoothing effect that minimizes roughness and plumps up wrinkles," Agidigbi says.
Conversely, in the Resculpt formula, soybean seed extract "helps skin achieve a tightening and lifting effect," while whey protein, rich in amino acids, "helps increase skin's naturalI'll admit that tightening and lifting aren't my biggest skin concerns, but skin of all ages and types needs proper hydration, and I'm a big fan of Clinique in general, so I agreed to try this moisturizer out pre-launch.
