Andrew Harnik, STF / Associated PressIn response to all those trying to smear people with student loans as irresponsible and lazy, I give you Exhibit A:

He got cancer, lost his internship, lost his opportunity to finish his degree, was thrown under the bus by Veterans Affairs and left with $35,000 of medical debt that destroyed his life savings. He almost died.Seven years later, he still isn’t back on his feet, with no end in sight for health and wealth woes. Bankruptcy does not discharge student loan debts, and student loan master promissory notes allow for future spouses to be held financially liable for the debt.

Those complaining about the student loan forgiveness are people who haven’t been on the receiving end of fraud.
