A new Rebel Moon image reveals Zack Snyder's own take on the lightsaber. From the mind of the Justice League, Watchmen, and Army of the Dead director, the upcoming space opera film follows a woman named Kora who recruits a team of warriors from across the galaxy to fight a tyrannical government terrorizing her peaceful colony.

Rebel Moon's Star Wars History Explained Rebel Moon was originally conceived by Snyder as a Star Wars movie, which he pitched to Lucasfilm while he was in post-production on Man of Steel. The pitch was a more mature take on Star Wars inspired by the works of Akira Kurosawa, with Snyder calling it "Seven Samurai in space.
