Immediately following the court's ruling, at least eight of Arizona's nine licensed abortion providers, including Camelback Family Planning,Dobbs reversed the nearly 50-year-old landmark Roe v. Wade decision, which protected an individual's right to choose to have an abortion.
Goodrick said at one point after the Dobbs decision she'd been hopeful that the abortion law mess in Arizona would get sorted out and that the pregnant 15-year-old patient would be able to obtain an abortion in Phoenix. But now the teenager is probably going to get abortion care in California, she said.
Fonteno emphasized that traveling to obtain an abortion is"a barrier that no one should have to face." Taylor said she spoke with an abortion provider in New Mexico who had seen"six or seven" patients from Arizona over the past week, which was not typical for that clinic, she said.
