A new patent, published in the last week, shows that Apple is working on ways to give iPhones and iPads a whole new feature.
So, to put it in more everyday language, you could place, for example, an Apple Pencil on an iPad display, or a pair of AirPods Pro on an iPhone screen, to charge the Pencil or AirPods wirelessly.
It’s not clear what might happen to the display itself. Perhaps some elements, such as the image on the display or the touch-sensitivity would be temporarily suspended, in which case the benefit of seeing the screen is removed .
